A big salute to the tricolor on the eve of independence day, this year we celebrate 62years of independence and when we look back things are different………….

A few days ago a friend of mine sent me these lines
DAY BY DAY NOTHING CHANGES
BUT WHEN YOU LOOK BACK

EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT…….
Absolutely right yar!! When we look back in the past 62years we have progressed industrially, society is broad-minded (I mean to say that my mum is ok with the fact of me having a girlfriend…………just kidding……her child is commitment phobic…………vaise bhi she’ll kill me…) and above all the 7 letter word FREEDOM (feel the importance of the word)

We live in a free country today, we have all the facilities (even jails have television sets for VIP’s), our political leaders say we are economically self-dependent (Indian government asks the World Bank for loan every year), the standard of living is very high (poverty a good example)…………

WE HAVE REALLY PROGRESSED….
Our martyrs, brothers, warriors fought for our independence………A FREE INDIA……….THIS FREE INDIA……

Let me take you 86 years back, Ajoy Ghosh had his first meeting with the man himself Bhagat Singh, it was 1923 winter and Bhagat Singh was 16 at that time………tall and thin, shabbily dressed, very quiet and seemed more or less like a normal village guy lacking self-confidence and smartness………Ajoy and Bhagat had a very long talk about independence……Ajoy wasn’t impressed……those were the days when both had boyish dreams of revolution..

Now five years later, Bhagat Singh and Ajoy meet again, but this time Bhagat Singh was not the Bhagat Singh that he had met five years back, tall and magnificently proportioned, with intelligent face and gleaming eyes, he looked completely different…………Bhagat Singh made a powerful impression while talking and Ajoy Ghosh was thoroughly impressed………Bhagat Singh was now with AZAD bhaisahab (Chandra Shekhar Azad), Bhagat had joined the HRA (Hindustan socialist republican association) and had made many changes in its programme and organizational structure……

One year later the programming of HRA had completely changed and two bombs exploded on the official benches of the central assembly, this was done to protest against the working class movement, that had been passed………Bhagat Singh and Dutt threw bombs and were arrested on the spot…………both of them had succeeded in their plan and the English government got a kickass example of what Indians can do……….AWESOME MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Now comes something interesting (these names have no relation with the founder of the DU colleges)…………HRA’s Lahore bomb factory was discovered by English government, this led to many more arrests of SUKHDEV, KISHORI LAL, JAI PRAKASH GARGI and others………jai gopal then HANSRAJ VOHRA confessed and many more arrests followed………

The trial and the strike

It was July 1929 and Bhagat Singh was no longer having that magnificent physique which always had been a ga-ga topic for the HRA………it was a court hearing and he was carried into the court on a stretcher, for months Bhagat Singh and Dutt were brutally tortured by police and now that they were on a hunger strike demanding human treatment for all political prisoners added to their pathetic condition…………………….

Bhagat Singh while in court gave a moral booster to all his fellow men which later resulted in all of them joining the hunger strike that Bhagat and Dutt had already started, the basic demand being putting all political prisoners in one class, better diet for them, reading and writing materials …………The strike lasted for 63days resulting in self immolation of Jatin Das and stirring the nation to its very depths……..HATS OFF!!!!

In October 1930 after facing a trial for over five months, the judgement was announced, BHAGAT SINGH, RAJGURU, SUKHDEV were sentenced to death (thanks to Gandhi……no respect for him…), seven to life imprisonment and three to life long terms…………….

In April 1931 just on the eve of the Karachi Session of congress, the death sentence were carried out…………Bhagat Singh was merely 24 at that time……….

ALL THREE SONS OF MOTHER INDIA SACRIFICED THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!

Like a meteor Bhagat Singh appeared in the political sky for a brief period and became a symbol of the spirits and aspiration of a new India…………

Now I come back again to this very bad habit of mine --- targeting celebrities…………this time my celebrity is a bit different, he has earned himself a lot of respect worldwide……………majboori ka naam “Mahatma Gandhi”…………….we give a lot of respect to this guy (kisliye yar!!!! Halwa hai kya???)……..
He could have saved Bhagat Singh because back in 1931 everyone expected that the release of Lahore case prisoners (Bhagat Singh and his 12 fellow men) or atleast the commutation of their death sentences would be one of the terms of the pact (Gandhi-Irwin pact) that was to be signed between congress and the English government……………………but this did not happen, Mr. Gandhi did not save Bhagat Singh may be because people had started to follow Bhagat Singh, he though 23 was more popular than Gandhi which ganda Gandhi could not digest, so he signed the pact and Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev were hanged…………this proves that Gandhi was a true politician in the right sense

But nevertheless whatever happened Bhagat Singh still is remembered as a hero of our freedom struggle ……………

A SALUTE FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO SARDAR BHAGAT SINGH………………..WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Again wishing a very happy independence day to all…….

Finishing off with a message

STOP WAITING FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN
GO OUT
AND MAKE THEM HAPPEN…………

JAI HIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s been 20 years but the blood is still fresh................

A tribute to the braves

Aage aage veer jawan, peeche saara Hindustan
(The warrior leads, the country follows….)

It was the year 1999, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee (prime minister then) had returned from a peace summit held in Pakistan……….it was the time when the friendly bus service b/w India and Pakistan was shown a green flag………people thought things might change b/w both nations because the peace summit had many perspectives which made it silent over the BORDER……………but not for long, this silence proved to be costly for the Indians………….. as the famous KARGIL WAR took place…………….

The kargil war was in action b/w May 8 and July 22 when both the Pakistani forces and Kashmiri militants were detected atop the Himalayan Ridges..

A STATE OF HIGH ALTITUDE OFFENCE AGAINST THE PAKISTANI POSTS HAD EMERGED!!!!!!

I was just nine at that time but that fear is still fresh in ma body when I was crying over the phone asking my dad”papa aap ladai me nahi jaoge na……..”. this all happened because I overheard my mum saying that my dad might get a call from the warfront…………………I was in agartala at that time………….

Now lets move to the warfront

It was dark and cold in the DRASS SECTOR, Capt. Vikram Batra who had earned himself an instructor’s post by now had his men quite low on moral………
It was 11:45 in the night and he(vikram batra) was really upset as a bullet meant for him hit his fellow men and he lost him…..
By now his only aim was to capture peak 5140 keeping in mind what he had learned at the time of his training at Indian military academy(IMA) dehradun
 The safety honor and welfare of your country comes first always and everytime……

 The honor welfare and comfort of the men you command comes next

 Your own ease comfort and safety comes last always and every time

It was time for Capt. Vikram Batra to prove that he was a true Indian soldier as it was his very first major battle………

Vikram batra and his men carried out their operation successfully in the dark of night, 24 year old Vikram and his men assaulted the enemy, the enemy camp was destroyed….... all of the batra’s men were alive and peak 5140 was back in the hands of her mother………her mother INDIA.

Next morning after raisin the Indian flag atop the peak, Vikram Batra came down……severely injured as he was involved in close hand to hand combat with three of the Pakistani soldiers……now after he reached down at the base camp, one of the NDTV correspondent asked him “ what do you want to say about your successful assault on the peak 5140……WILL YOU LIKE TO RETURN TO THE WARFRONT AGAIN”….to this he replied “ YEY DIL MAANGEY MORE”

The famous Pepsi catchline those days became the catchline of the kargil war……….

Then vikram called his dad

HIS DAD TO NDTV CORRESPONDENT

He(vikram) called me(his dad) saying” dad I’ve captured…….” For a moment I(his dad) thought he had been captured by the enemy post but he spoke again “ dad I’ve captured the enemy post I’M OK I’M OK”……he was speaking very fast and his voice was not clear as he was calling from the satellite phone I said” beta I am proud of you…………may god bless you to carry your task there”. It was the most happiest moment of my life……………

A few days later Capt. Vikram called his family again but this time Mr.Batra’s(his dad) heart lurched as vikram said” dad my unit is being sent to the warfront in kargil………papa ya to tiranga lehra ke aaunga ya fir usi me lipta hua aaunga (either I will raise the Indian flag atop the hill or will come wrapped in it).. mr.batra knew what his son was feeling at that moment, his son was in two minds….

THIS WAS THE LAST TIME HE CALLED…………

His Famous Quotes

 YEH DIL MAANGEY MORE____-------on capturing peak 5140

 Vikram decided to lead and an enemy post called “why have you come here Sher-Shah (vikram batra’s nickname given by his commanding officer) you will not go back”. Captain Vikram Batra is said to have replied “we shall see within an hour who remains on the top”.

 While dragging lieutenant naveen under cover Lt. naveen said “ sir’ I can still fight let me go!!!” vikram batra said “tu baal bachedaar hai peeche hat ja!!”(you have family get back).
It was the moment When A BULLET PIERCED HIS CHEST and we lost a great warrior of our motherland.

YA TO TIRANGA LEHRAKE AAUNGA YA FIR USI ME LIPTA HUA AAUNGA……………………
This Was Capt. Vikram Batra
My idol…..
Capt. Vijyant Thapar (Robin)

He laid down his life for our better tomorrow……he was just 22
This his last letter to his parents

We recaptured our last hill from Pakistan but we lost our most valuable great warriors, brave brothers……today its time to remember them………

A SALUTE TO THE HEROES OF KARGIL WAR

JAI HIND!!!!!!
