A thought on a serious note
Its just a thought that struck me when I was going back to my room after my classes…it not a post!!
We are full of excuses....aren’t we??? If a girl gets raped and is found dead in front of your house we say……”Arey ye to hota hi rehta hai…ab isme hum kya kar sakte hain???”(Oh!! This is an everyday story…what can we do in that???)……This is actually an excuse to get ourselves clean of the fact that for every girl raped in India we are somewhere responsible…and our involvement is that we play the role of passive observers!!
We read in a newspaper that a girl is raped……no it wasn’t a girl who was raped actually it was Someone’s daughter who got herself pierced by those demons…L
Making your little angels sit at home is not the solution……you are not making them safe actually they are the most vulnerable of getting their body pierced………making them sit at home is actually making them a coward, we are making them weak by telling them that they can’t do anything about it…if I have a daughter….i will support her…teach her to fight and put it in her mind that my angel is not weak infact she is the mightiest creation of the almighty….
If a girl learns to be bold…she can definitely protect herself to a large extent….
So as a fellow Indian I ask you a question Is it right to force down a feeling into their heart’s core that getting pierced is something they can’t do anything about!!
THINK ONCE AGAIN !!

Dilli ek se chhiyaanve….

Wondering what is it????? Nothing it’s just our Delhi…a place u can never understand in life, the more u try to understand it, the more u misunderstand it!! I came to Delhi 5 years back with lot of perceptions in my mind…..basically belonging to a small town in Haryana and coming to Delhi for me meant more than just coming to Delhi. I was very excited and my excitement was due to various reasons….
1.     When on my very first day in the city I caught sight of girls wearing mini-skirts and over the top tops, for me I had come down to heaven where there were only angels around me!! (Angels that were and wore every guy’s Dream).
2.     Historical monuments were always a source of interest for me, so for me Delhi had another plus point.

But I never knew that Dilli was multifaceted….unknown of other faces I had started to fall in love with the city…everyday I spent here, the more I fell in love with it. Not only this but my perception towards girls was taking a whole new dimension in this new role of mine as a DELHI-ITE…and not to my surprise mostly around me thought the same way as I did.
Living in the world where a camera was more powerful weapon than a gun I had started to realize the existence of the dirt storm that had taken over complete Delhi society by surprise and had started to make an impact in my life!! Eve-Teasing seemed to be a everyday work for boys(Work that they had to do…or they’ll die)…..Rapes had become a everyday news to my ears, murders were as common as a breakfast is to every men……People fighting for justice (What’s the use of getting Justice, if you get it 20 years after your death????)….the rich became powerful and the poor became a pity or a punching bag that the rich used as a medium to take out their daily frustrations, thus slowly came the era that still prevails….the POWER ERA in Delhi!!

“Ye Dilli hai beta, yahan jiske paas power hai….uske paas paisa hai…aur jiske paas paisa hai…uski Dilli hai!! (son, this is Delhi…the one who has power, has the money…and the one who has the money, has Delhi in his pocket)” said a man to me when I helped him get to his feet and move to the side of the road after seeing his bloodshed condition and when asked the reason for it I was told that a spoilt brat beat him up with a rod just for simple reason that his cycle pedal left a small scratch on the side of the boy’s car…I could make out from his broken leg that he was beaten very brutally….me and few of my friends left him to the hospital and left!! On our way to the hospital I could remember one of my friends advised him to register an F.I.R but the man refused……I was literally shocked on his refusal but later he justified saying “hmaari koi nahi sunta....mai police complain karunga to vo aur marenge mujhe….and then the biwi-bachche story started!!” I WAS IRRITATED!!
Within the next two days I had forgotten about the man and had no courtesy whatever of paying a visit to him…. but there is a unique quality of saddi Dilli that it will put you in the similar situations once again and that too really soon….it will not let you forget the bad happenings to you!! I never believed it but now I do and I even wrote a line about it “yahan Dilli me…….zakhm hamesha hara rehta hai” (In Delhi the wound always remains fresh)……
By now I had passed my class 12 exams and Dilli seemed more or less like a living city that could think and manipulate…..it seemed very cunning and ruthless as if it thought what to do the very next moment….so as to make the life a living hell for its people!! Whether it be Dilli ek (110001) or Dilli chiyaanve (110096)…the story is all the same every where!! A girl walks out in minis in the morning but covers her body and her face in the night because she knows it very well “the part exposed is the part missing the very next morning”…..those hunting eyes are always on a lookout…
A poor family has three members…the father goes out in search of work early morning but doesn’t return in the night….where did the man go????? Everyone knows it…he is murdered!! But police won’t even register a F.I.R because
·        The prime accused was the son of a minister….
·       The man was poor and powerless….
What would be your answer if I ask you that Is Dilli meant for powerless people???
I would say both Yes and No……yes because if you are ok being a passive observer to things and saying Sorry even when its not your mistake then there is a lot of demand for people like you in here….high class powerful individuals need people like you to wipe the dust of their shoes every morning!! GO FOR IT!! ;) But if you can’t do that you got to have power (Unity Is Strength) to carry out your plans or you are gone in a click!! That’s Dilli it definitely breathes!!

THIS CITY CREATES HAVOC ON ITS PEOPLE!!!

I had strongly started to believe what I stated above but I never knew that I was yet to face the other side of the coin……I always knew this city favors the powerful but how could I forget the strongest power of all………….US(it’s us(the Indians) not the United States ;)!!
I by now had started to understand the typical Delhi-ites and then what I came across was a news that I had ignored earlier….it was the real showcase of power in Delhi and made me fall in love with it again….
It was the Jessica Lal and Nitish Katara Murdercase……
What was the similarity between the two???? Both the cases set a true example of the reign of power in Dilli….there was a big political power that took the charge and as usual suppressed the weak!! Jessica’s Killers were set free by the court….out of 300 eye-witnesses 293 had refused that the crime took place in their presence….and the rest 7 were broken down!! Breaking down 300 minds was a complete one-sided show of power….the same was the scene in Nitish Katara Murdercase…no proofs etc…..loads of excuses for not taking the required actions….But there was just one reason….the prime accused were powerful people aur police ki to Fat rahi thi!! So we the common people took the charge…PROTESTED!! And what came out was the real and the strongest power…the POWER of common people!! That showed an example that Dilli doesn’t care what power is it…doesn’t matter whether it is the politicians or not….what matter the most is which of the two powers is strongest!!For me it was a cruel city but now I loved it cruel!!(Cruel on the so called powerful and loving on us…)
What I tried to convey through this whole Dilli thing was that Unity definitely works…..Ms. Sabrina Lal (Please marry me!!) and Mrs. Neelam Katara showed it to those cruel politicians that they can’t stand the taste of their own medicine…they cant stand the power of the dusty storm when it blows against them!!

I tried to understand it but couldn’t and I think I never will!! It proved what I said earlier…the more you try to understand it the more you misunderstand it!!All in all I could never form a single stable opinion for Delhi…it was bad...it was good... it was hilarious…it was cunning…a multifaceted queen of India!!

THIS CITY DEFINITELY BREATHES!!!
LOVE YOU DILLI…….

Nitin Siwach!!
